I have recently taken over a system that uses barcode scanners. A lot of the scanners in use are generic cheap Chinese scanners and there isn&#;t a lot of good clear English documentation available. It has been a very interesting learning process as they are much more complex and varying than i expected and the information i can find is patchy at best.

For anyone that has experience with the scanners, you would know configuration is done by scanning a series of barcodes each which change the settings on the scanner. I am trying to recreate the settings barcodes provided but some do not specify what the barcode says.
I have tried endless barcode reading apps that tell you what the barcode says and the language used, however they all just say that a settings barcode, for example &#;mute&#; is &#;&#; however once that barcode is replicated the barcode scanner just reads it as the number and not a setting. There must be some kind of hidden flag to say its a setting but i can not work out what it is. Even to the naked eye both barcodes (the original and my recreated one) seem the same.
Does anyone have any experience with this that may help me?
