How Optical Transceivers Work

An optical transceiver is a device that converts electrical signals into optical signals and vice versa. It is commonly used in fiber optic communication systems to transmit and receive data. To convert an electrical signal into an optical signal, the transceiver uses a laser diode to emit light at a specific wavelength. The electrical signal is used to modulate the intensity of the laser light, which in turn encodes the data onto the optical signal.
